JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

The Electrician Lead installs, services, repairs, replaces, and maintains all electrical wiring and electrical equipment. They install lights and power lines, electrical outlets, electrical fixtures and hook up and disconnect shore power and compressors, welding banks, etc. They also troubleshoot electrical systems for shorts and/or grounds, as well as make necessary repairs. They service electrical panels, motors, generators, alarms, and batteries to ensure proper operations in all facilities and vessels.

The Electrician Lead performs all functions of the position in conformity with applicable regulations concerning marine electrical systems and generally observed safety practices. Must have at least two years lead experience in marine electrical.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • The individual assigned to this position must, with or without reasonable accommodations, be able to perform the following essential functions:
  • Enter and move through manholes to reach and work in internally confined spaces.
  • Manipulate and operate all machines and hand/power tools essential to the performance of the position of Outside Machinist.
  • Transverse gangways and scaffolding at varying heights.
  • Transverse and negotiate uneven heights between dock and vessel.
  • Transverse and negotiate uneven surfaces.
  • Ascend and work at heights of up to 50+ feet.
  • Ability to read and comprehend manuals, drawings and blueprints.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have at least two years lead experience in marine electrical.
  • Must join union upon hiring in.
  • A physical and UA are also pre-requisite of employment.
